Changing a 286 Bulb to LED |
|

If you have read the article on changing a 501 / T10 bulb to an LED you will notice that the same principle applies here. You can clearly see the bulb and holder taken directly from the dashboard and again it looks very much like a complete unit. |

I have removed the bulb from the base, again carefully gripping the bulb with pliers ease the bulb from the holder. NB: Do not pull too hard, some of these fittings are soldered in and you could damage the bulb if you're too heavy handed. |

I've chosen a blue LED to replace the bulb and it is now a simple job of pushing it in place, the top of this LED is frosted to give a bit of diffusion as LEDs can give off very tightly focused light. |

Another Job well done! the blue LED is in place and ready to go, please note that an LED has a correct and incorrect way of fitting, if you find the bulb does not work when first installed remove the holder, turn through 180 degrees and replace. |
